Fun ways to show off your jewellery through social media.

Have you ever wondered how to take pretty and creative pictures of your jewellery? It could be for yourself or for a starting business, it really does not matter, as long as it is pretty and eye-catching.

There are a few creative ways to take pictures of your jewellery that according to us, have the potential of becoming great content for your social media platforms!

First of all we have the small mirror selfie. If you have ever dreamed of becoming a model then here is your chance. Take a small table mirror of your liking and place it on a table with different ornaments around to add an additional effect to your picture or a plain blanket to add a feeling of space and to make the main and only focus of the picture the mirror. These kinds of pictures will show elegance and your own aesthetic showing every detail of it. A combination of a messy low bun and a complementing set of matching jewellery can go a long way. These pictures are perfect for your personal social media feed, to spice your content up a little bit.

Secondly, we always have the mirror as the protagonist but this time this technique could be for people who are camera shy or just want the focus to be solely on the jewellery. This time a laptop will come in handy and also a small mirror that will fit the size of the keyboard. Then go on your laptop and select a background image of your liking, in this case I went with a blue sky (you can never go wrong with that) to accentuate and complete the blue gems in the necklace. Then place the jewellery on the mirror and slightly close your laptop so there will be a nice reflection of the image. Just with a click of your smartphone you will be able to take beautiful pictures.

Lastly we have the classic piece of shiny silk or cloth with a warm lighting combined with additional props such as an icy glass of water or drink to put next to your jewellery while on display. Of course have fun with what you have and the more creative the better. This method works well with any kind of metal or stone as you will base the colour scheme to them, including the lighting. Now I took a martini glass and decided to put some jewels inside on a silk background.

Don’t be scared to play around with filters as well. These filters can be from your camera roll, specific apps or your social media directly. Add colour or take it away, in the pictures above I haven’t used any filter (except for the last one), just to give you an idea of how it could look even before all the editing. If you don’t like the idea of putting filters then it’s a good occasion to show off your post with a #nofilter.
