Are you looking for a really special piece of jewellery to give as a gift or to treat yourself? You already looked at everything, but you can’t find anything that fits your personality. Perhaps you’ve thought about making your own bespoke jewellery. This is the beginning of a creative search to find the subject that will build the guidelines of your project. At Tim & Co we offer a bespoke design service with the help of one of our 5 jewellery designers.
To fully express who you are in your project, you can submit themes that are important to you to the designer of your choice to establish the foundations of your personalised approach. Just as famous people in our history have left their mark on the world of jewellery with their original commissions, you can impress your loved ones with your new pieces.
Here are some great themes in which you can find inspiration:
Fauna
Probably the most famous piece depicting an animal, the two crocodile necklaces created by Cartier in 1975 for Maria Felix. The Mexican actress had a passion for reptiles and consequently brought a baby crocodile to the Cartier boutique in Paris as the model for what would become a real museum piece set with 1000 emeralds and 1000 fancy yellow diamonds.
History
The great civilisations of the past still amaze us with their arts. The dynasties of Egyptian pharaohs and their rediscovered treasures or the heritage of ancient Rome which is still the foundation of our western way of life are extraordinary sources of inspiration to create your jewellery. The Maison Bulgari has long associated the glorious past of the Italian peninsula by using ancient coins in its creations.
Geometry
Geometric shapes can bring a great touch of modernity to your designs. The Art Deco style is a great example of the use of geometry in jewellery designs. From the 1920s onwards, this new movement imposed its clean lines and structured shapes. Once you have found the subject that moves you, you can continue the discussion with your designer to let your inspiration flow.
