How to wear your jewellery with style
I am sure we have all seen on our instagram or Pinterest feed featuring some people with aesthetically pleasing styles and accessories. We ask ourselves how we can get that effortless, classic and elegant look and I have the answers for you! Either you are going for a minimalistic or all in look, there are some key accessories that make a huge difference in the way you look.
So first off, make sure you know where you are going to wear your jewellery. Ask yourself what occasion you are going to attend and how you can compliment your outfit in a refined and elegant way.
We would advise smaller diamonds during the day and bigger ones at night. Earrings are the most popular pieces of jewellery so let’s start from there. If you are going to go about your day or to work, then stud diamond earrings or small pendants or hoops adorned with diamonds are the ones for you. Also a pearl can add a touch of class to any day outfit of any colour.
Which metals do you prefer?
You might already have your favourite type of metal, from yellow gold to white gold. The important thing is to be conscious about using different shades if you want to mix and match. Usually mixing yellow with white can be off-putting. You can look at your undertones and your wardrobe to decide if you are more of a yellow gold, white gold or rose gold kind of person. For example if you wear a lot of browns and beiges then yellow gold would suit you best while if your favourite colour is blue, you might want to go with white gold or platinum. The middle ground is: if you like black you can match every metal to it and it will always look good!
Layer your necklaces! A small plain metal chain combined with a longer metal chain adorned with one or few small gems will complete your look especially with a low cut or V cut shirt or sweater. With this combination, you could never go wrong. Same can be said about bracelets. You can combine 2 thin metal bracelets with a watch that matches the colour scheme of your outfit. Otherwise you can wear big bracelets but without the watch to balance out your look.
Lastly for rings, like before, if you want to wear something big, then wear one or few so as to not crowd your hands too much but with smaller rings there is the exception of wearing more than one on one finger and multiple on different fingers.
Always balance out your jewellery in terms of quantity, materials and colour in order for you to have that stunning look everywhere you go. Since bold styles are in fashion at the moment don’t hesitate to express yourself on a night out but remember that minimalistic designs will always show a more put-together look and elegance perfect for either day and night.
