Milan fashion week, what you have to know about accessories
Let’s talk a little bit about Milan Fashion week fall/winter 2021 and what are the trends for the end of this year.
This year each show limited the amount of people that could attend due to the pandemic but this did not stop brands putting up a great show. In this fashion week we were presented with themes of pre-and post-pandemic feelings. This goes back to the trends and predictions of the beginning of this year (you can refer back to the article written earlier this year: ‘what’s trending’ on our main website at timcodiamonds.com). Many brands were already preparing and envisioning what they wanted 2021 to be for the fashion industry. From what we saw they intend for the same trends to continue till the end of the year.
Many statements were made through the pieces of clothing but we are going to look mainly at what was presented when it comes to accessories, mainly jewellery.
It was interesting to see the colour schemes and at the same time it was difficult to pinpoint a single common factor that could link all of the items presented by different brands together. Of course difficult but not impossible, yellow gold seems to be the most popular metal to be used on jewellery. In the most iconic walks of this year we could see models wearing golden earrings, bracelets, necklaces and in some cases also other facial piercings.
We’ve also seen chunky jewellery from necklaces to earrings as well. Made from metals but also pearls. Always big earrings that have a certain weight to them, there is no specific design to them as it really depends on the brand that we are talking about, for example some use letters or logos some decide to go for something a little bit more abstract. If I have to personally summarise what the main accessory trends were at Milan fashion week 20121, I would say that the two key words that pop into my mind are big and flashy.
