The difference between Eternity and Infinity Rings

The act of giving eternity and infinity rings can be done for a variety of reasons. But that isn’t the only distinction. The difference in design styles is often the most obvious way to tell them apart. Eternity rings do not resemble a figure of eight, but infinity rings do. Learn the differences between eternity and infinity rings so you can give the right one to the right person for the right occasion.

Eternity Rings

The eternity rings have a history that goes back to ancient Egypt. They symbolise unending love and commitment between two people. These rings are often given alongside the engagement or wedding rings after a few years of dating or marriage, but it could also be to mark a special day or anniversary.

Wondering in what order you should wear your eternity ring? The wedding ring is traditionally worn on the left hand’s right finger as it is said it must be close to your heart. In case you wear all your rings on one hand, first comes the engagement ring, followed by the eternity ring.

Infinity Rings

The infinity rings have a similar meaning, they represent a love that lasts forever. However, the infinity ring includes the infinity symbol, in other words a figure 8, representing an infinite relationship.

Traditionally, infinity rings are meant to be worn on the fourth finger, but nowadays, it is a completely free choice and could be worn on any finger and any hand.

Is it more expensive to purchase a diamond infinity or an eternity ring?

Although the price is determined upon the established weight of diamonds, it all depends on the style of the ring you are looking for and whether it contains diamonds. A center stone can raise the price significantly, while on the other hand all around figure 8 shaped bands do not necessarily account for a high amount.
